NOTICE TO HOMEOWNERS

Dear Huntley Homeowners,

We want to make everyone aware that the City Fire Department has asked the Developer to immediately start enforcing parking regulations that were part of Huntley’s approved plan. This includes signage noting that parking is on one side only for both Huntley Avenue and Morgan Court and no parking within fifteen (15) feet of the fire hydrants.

As part of the original plan approval process there is a review of the plan by various departments in the City, each with their own priorities. Concerns for storm water management dictate that the amount of impervious surface (pavement) be as small as possible, while concerns for public safety dictate a minimum width of street remain clear so that Fire Equipment can operate when needed. The result is that new development in the City usually requires parking on one side only. In the case of Huntley, the left side of Huntley Ave. off Stribling Ave. and the left side of Morgan Ct. are the “No Parking- Fire Lane” sides of those streets.

As is noted in the Homeowners Association documents that were given to you when you purchased your home in Huntley, until the streets are accepted into the City of Charlottesville public street system, the Developer will be enforcing the parking restrictions. This includes towing of vehicles parked illegally. Once the streets are accepted into the City’s public street system the City will be responsible for enforcing the parking regulations.

We anticipate the “No Parking- Fire Lane” signs to be installed in the coming weeks and enforcement of the parking regulations to start immediately after that. Tentative dates are to be completed by the latter part of first week of April.

Towing arrangements will be made with one local company to enforce the no parking restrictions until such time the streets are accepted for public maintenance.

Warm regards,
Cathcart Property Management on behalf of
